ABOUT THE FUNCTION

We are experiencing exciting growth at GFG and looking to grow our teams!

We have an international team of around 50 people in Engineering based in Berlin, a team of 20 in Vietnam and 20 in Singapore. We work closely as well with the teams in the regions where we operate, in LATAM, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand and CIS countries.

We have an open company culture with over 20 different nationalities operating in a booming market working on interesting projects using modern tech-stack, efficient and lean workflows and we continuously develop our products using agile development practices.

The Seller Center team is developing and maintaining our in-house marketplace platform, which is already rolled out to all 17 countries where we operate. We are looking to build up our teams even further as the company is growing fast and bring onboard Senior Software Engineers with PHP expertise.

In this role as Senior Software Engineer you will support the team and ensure that our platform is able to grow exponentially and is ready for future challenges!

ABOUT THE ROLE

• You will work in a team developing our marketplace platform that serves over 10,000 fashion brands over the world

• Contribute to the growth of the team by sharing your knowledge in software design and best practices

• Proactively apply your analytical and critical thinking to our business problems, sharing your questions and points of view in our in depth grooming sessions

• You will participate in the design and execution of fundamental architectural leaps in the core of our business

• Investigate the latest technologies to improve site reliability, developer experience and raw performance

WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

• Experience as a PHP Software Engineer, ideally having worked previously with distributed teams

• You have hands-on experience in building and deploying microservices ideally on Kubernetes

• You have solid MySQL knowledge

• You have worked closely with DevOps/SRE

• You are a PHP expert, but have an eye on Java`s development, too

• You are a continuous learner and like to find new ways to do things

• Good communication skills, spoken and written English

• A hands-on, can-do attitude

Nice to have

• AWS experience

• Exposure to e-commerce environments

• Very good level of English

• Demonstrated experience with PHP and MySQL

• You can switch from talking with Product Owners and back with fellow engineers with no effort

• You believe in improving every piece of code that falls into your hands, by default

• You have 4+ years of experience with high-traffic distributed systems and client-server architectures

• You are a living TDD and can talk comfortably in terms of design patterns

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and experience in a microservices environment is a plus

• Experience with Java and/or Golang is a plus
